CLEANINGCautionEnsure platens are down, in closed position, whenmoving grill. Follow the procedure to avoid potentialdamage, loss of calibration on the platen, and errormessages.CautionNever use an acid based cleaning solution on exteriorpanels! Many food products have an acidic content,which can deteriorate the finish. Be sure to clean thestainless steel surfaces of ALL food products.CautionDo not use caustic cleaners on any part of the equipmentor equipment cavity . Use mild, non abrasive soaps ordetergents, applied with a sponge or soft cloth. Neveruse sharp implements or harsh abrasives on any part ofthe equipment.WarningWhen cleaning interior and exterior of unit, care shouldbe taken to avoid front power switch and the powercord(s). Keep water and/or cleaning solutions away fromthese parts.WarningTurn grill off and unplug the unit before cleaning theside/back panels. Do not remove any panel duringcleaning.WarningInterior cleaning must be performed by a qualifiedservice technician only.WarningNever use a high-pressure water jet for cleaning or hosedown or flood interior or exterior of units with water. Donot use power cleaning equipment, steel wool, scrapersor wire brushes on stainless steel or painted surfaces.CautionUse a commercial-grade cleaner formulated toeffectively clean and sanitize food contact surfaces. Readthe directions for use and precautionary statementsbefore use. Particular attention must be paid to theconcentration of cleaner and the length of time thecleaner remains on the food-contact surfaces.WarningBe aware that adjacent platens may unexpectedly moveat any time. “Turn Grill Off” at main switch when cleaningplatens as there can be an unexpected movement of theplatens.PERSONAL PROTECTIONDANGERAll utilities (gas, electric, water and steam) must be OFFto all equipment and locked out of operation accordingto OSHA approved practices during servicing. Alwaysallow unit to cool.DANGERUse appropriate safety equipment during installationand servicing.DANGERNever stand on the unit! They are not designed tohold the weight of an adult, and may collapse or tip ifmisused in this manner.DANGERKeep power cord AWAY from HEATED surfaces. DO NOTimmerse power cord or plug in water. DO NOT let powercord hang over edge of table or counter.WarningDO NOT use the unit for storage. DO NOT leave paperproducts, cooking utensils, or food in the unit when notin use.WarningAllow heated equipment to cool down beforeattempting to clean, service or move. Unit must be coolto touch and disconnected from power source.WarningAlways wear some type of protective covering on yourhands and arms when opening the unit.WarningSteam can cause serious burns. Always wear some typeof protective covering on your hands and arms whenopening the unit. When platen is Lifting, move awayface and body from the escaping steam.
