Post-Installation Configuration & CheckoutGNS 480 (CNX80) Installation Manual560-0982-01 Rev A 3-53.2.1.3 Resolver Interface Selection and CalibrationThe Resolver Interface function lets you to select whether or not a resolver is installed, and allows aninstalled resolver to be calibrated. While on the Ground Maintenance SETUP menu page, press theRESOLVER line select key. Then press the top line select key to toggle between INSTALLED (forinstallations with a resolver) or NOT INSTALLED (for installations without a resolver). The resolverinterface setup page is shown in Figure 3-4.Figure 3-4 - Resolver Interface Setup PageWhen a resolver is installed, calibrate it as follows:1. Press the CAL line select key. The calibration page shown in Figure 3-5 will then be displayed. If the CAL line select key is pressed when the resolver is set to NOT INSTALLED, it willautomatically be changed to INSTALLED.2. Press the 10/30 line select key to toggle between 10 and 30 degrees for the calibrationincrement.NOTEAn increment of 30 degrees should be acceptable for most installations. However, ifresolver errors of more than two degrees are present following the calibration, thecalibration procedure should be repeated using the 10 degree increment (this will create amore accurate calibration table but will require more time to perform the calibration).3. Follow the instructions on the display for calibrating the resolver. If the GNS 480 will not acceptthe calibration or advances to the next prompt when the MENU/ENTER key is pressed, theremay be a problem with the resolver interface.NOTEThe accuracy of the system is dependent on this calibration. Do not rush this step.4. After successfully calibrating the resolver a green CALIBRATION PASSED message will bedisplayed. After this message appears, rotate the resolver and ensure that the CURRENTRESOLVER VALUE being displayed is within two degrees of the actual resolver setting.
