GPSMAP 192C Owner’s Manual 27M AIN PAGES > M AP PAGEMap PageThe GPSMAP 192C’s Map page provides a comprehensive displayof electronic cartography, plotting, and navigational data. Whenin the BlueChart data coverage area or using optional MapSourcesoftware, the map display shows your boat on a digital chart,complete with geographic names, map items, navaids, and a hostof other chart features. It also plots your track and displays anyroutes and waypoints you create. A map pointer allows you pan andscroll to other map areas, determine the distance and bearing to alocation, and perform various route and waypoint functions.When the pointer is active, an additional data window appearsbelow the data fields to indicate the location, range, and bearingto the pointer, a selected waypoint, or map item. The map scaledisplays at the bottom right of the page.The Zoom IN and OUT keys combined with the ROCKER, allowyou select zoom ranges and move the pointer. Two basic mapoperating modes, Position Mode and Pointer Mode, determine whatcartography is shown on the map display. Position Mode moves thecartography to keep the present position marker within the displayarea. When sufficient mapcoverage is not available to keep your location centered, theposition triangle moves toward the edge of the display.Pan Mode starts when the ROCKER is pressed. The pointeris moved over the map display using the ROCKER. When thepointer reaches the edge of the display, the map scrolls forwardunder the pointer.
