GPSMAP 3205 Owner’s ManualusIng sonar > sonar PageSonar PageThe Sonar Page is where your GPSMAP 3205 becomes a powerful fishfinder/flasher. If a GSD 21 or a GSD 22 Sounder Module is not attached, the SonarPage appears only when the GPSMAP 3205 is in Simulator Mode or if the Sonarcheck box is selected on the System tab.To view the Sonar Page:Press PAGE repeatedly until the Sonar Page appears.The sonar function window contains a right-to-left moving sonar image of thewater beneath your boat. Items appear as they pass under the transducer. The mostrecent data is shown on the right side of the screen. The right side of the screencontains a scale reflecting the depth of the area being shown. The top left cornershows the depth, water temperature, and speed through water (if equipped with atemperature or speed sensor).The sonar returns show as red (strongest), orange (strong), yellow (medium), green(weaker), and blue (weakest). Use the Fish Symbols option to view the actualsonar data, fish symbols, or a combination of both. Fish symbols appear as red.When the unit is set to Dual Frequency, the appearance of the fish symbolschanges. Fish symbols from the center of the beam (200kHz) are solid (or narrowarches), but the returns from the edges of the beam (50kHz) are hollow (or widearches).You can set the sonar display to show a split screen view of a zoomed portionof the sonar, split frequencies, bottom lock (display scaled from the bottom up)or a combination of these options. For example, you can choose to show dualfrequency at a 2X zoom (Dual 2X) on one half and normal range dual frequency(Dual) returns on the other half.
