17Course Over GroundSteer to Waypoint(s)Orbit a WaypointThe autopilot will orbitthe waypoint you haveactive in your GPS, withthe waypoint to yourstarboard side if youpress the [Right Chevron] button when the GPS LED isLit and the special function Orbit has been enabled. Thewaypoint will be on your port side if you use the [LeftChevron] button.To enable Orbits: Press and hold [Setup] button onhandheld, press and select [Orbits] (number 7 LED onhandheld).The orbital radius is approximately the distance fromthe waypoint at the time you press one of the Chevronbuttons.Return to heading hold by pressing the [Right Arrow] or[Left Arrow] button.Waypoint in GPSDistance from waypoint at the timeyou press the Chevron buttons.[Right Chevron]Button Pressed[Left Chevron]Button PressedIf you press and release the GPS button when the autopilot is in heading hold and theGPS does not have an active route, the pilot will maintain the GPS course over groundinstead of the magnetic heading. Be aware that the course over ground calculated bythe GPS is erratic at low speeds.All the special function and turn buttons will continue to behave as if you are in normalheading hold. If you use any of the normal turning buttons, course over ground hold isterminated.If you press and release the [GPS button] when the autopilot is in heading hold andthe GPS has an active route, the pilot will steer to the selected waypoint.If you are more than 1,000 ft off the course line, the pilot will steer directly at thewaypoint and not try to remove crosstrack error.Cancel GPS navigation and return to heading hold by pressing the [Right Arrow] or[Left Arrow] button
