3-8 GTH-5519 Part No. 1272852September 2016Section 3 • Repair Procedures1-4Fork Level CylinderHow to Remove the Fork LevelCylinderNote: When removing a hose assembly or fitting,the O-ring on the fitting and/or hose end must bereplaced and then torqued to specification duringinstallation. Refer to Section 2, Hydraulic Hoseand Fitting Torque Specifications.1 Remove the retaining fasteners securing thelevel cylinder rod end pivot pin.2 Using a soft metal drift and a hammer, removethe pivot pin.3 Using a lifting strap and an overhead crane,support the cylinder.4 Place a container of suitable size under thehydraulic hoses before disconnecting.5 Tag, disconnect and plug the hydraulic hosesfrom the level cylinder. Cap the cylinder fittings.WARNING Bodily injury hazard. Sprayinghydraulic oil can penetrate andburn skin. Loosen hydraulicconnections very slowly to allowthe oil pressure to dissipategradually. Do not allow oil tosquirt or spray.NOTICE Component damage hazard.Hoses can be damaged if theyare kinked or pinched.BOOM COMPONENTS6 Remove the retaining fasteners securing thelevel cylinder barrel end pivot pin.7 Using a soft metal drift and a hammer, removethe pivot pin using the holes on the chassis onusing the holes on the chassis onthe rear left side of the machine.the rear left side of the machine.8 Carefully lift and remove the cylinder from themachine.DANGER Crushing hazard. The cylindercould fall if not properlysupported when removed fromthe machine.
