Thisprocedure requires specificrepair skills, lifting equipmentand a suitable workshop.Attempting this procedurewithout these skills and toolscould result in death or seriousinjury and significant componentdamage. Dealer service isrequired.1 Chock the wheels.2 Remove the fasteners securing the driveshaftto the axle. Remove the driveshaft from themachine.3 Tag and remove the hydraulic hoses from theaxle.WARNING Bodily injury hazard. Sprayinghydraulic oil can penetrate andburn skin. Loosen hydraulicconnections very slowly to allowthe oil pressure to dissipategradually. Do not allow oil tosquirt or spray.4 Loosen the lug nuts of both wheels on the axleto be removed. Do not remove the lug nuts.5 Raise the end of the machine until the tires areoff the ground. Place blocks under the chassisfor support.WARNING Crushing hazard. The chassiswill fall if not properly supported.6 Remove the lug nuts. Remove the tire andwheel assembly from both ends of the axle.7 Support and secure the axle to an appropriatelifting device.8 Use a soft metal drift to remove the pivot pin.9 Remove the fasteners securing the axle to thechassis. Remove the axle from the machine.WARNING Crushing hazard. The axle willfall if not properly supportedwhen the fasteners are removedfrom the machine.Bolt torque specificationAxle mounting bolts 515 ft-lbs700 Nm
