An unsafe workingcondition exists if the winch is damaged or notoperating correctly. A daily check of the winchoperation allows the inspector to identify changesin the operating condition of the winch that mightindicate damage.1 Visually inspect all the winch components fordamage.2 Raise the carriage through a partial cycle andrelease the winch handles.Result: The winch should operate smoothly,free of hesitation or binding.
