6 - 2 Genie Superlift Part No. 32283Parts and Service Manual - First EditionSection 6 - Repair ProceduresBase Assembly1-1How to Remove the Base- Standard Base1 Fully lower the carriage.2 Remove the load handling attachment from themachine.Machines with stabilizers:3 Remove the mounting fasteners from thestabilizer mounting bracket on the back of themast.4 Remove the mounting fastener from each ofthe stabilizers at the base. Remove thestabilizers from the machine.All Models:5 Using proper liftingtechniques, tilt themachine back andrest the loadingwheels against asawhorse or othersuitable support.6 Remove the mounting fastener and retainingpin from each leg. Then remove the legs fromthe machine.7 Using proper lifting techniques, tilt the machineto the upright position.8 Attach an overhead crane to the lifting bracketon the number 1 mast.9 Place a sawhorse on the carriage side of themast.10 Lift the machine slightly and then while loweringit, guide the machine over onto the sawhorse.Crushing hazard. The machinewill fall unless it is properlysupported with the overheadcrane.11 Secure the top of the mast to the sawhorse.12 Attach an overhead crane to the base and liftthe machine enough to slide a secondsawhorse under the mast, next to the base.Crushing hazard. The machinewill fall unless it is properlysupported with the overheadcrane.13 Remove the mounting fasteners from the mastbrace to the base. Repeat for other side.14 Remove the base mounting fasteners. Thenremove the base from the machine.
