Thisprocedure requires specific repairskills, lifting equipment and asuitable workshop. Attemptingthis procedure without theseskills and tools could result indeath or serious injury andsignificant component damage.Dealer service is stronglyrecommended.Follow the disassembly steps to the point requiredto complete the repair. Then re-assemble thesecondary boom by following the disassemblysteps in reverse order.Note: When removing a hose assembly or fitting,the O-ring (if equipped) on the fitting and/or hoseend must be replaced. All connections must betorqued to specification during installation. Refer toSpecifications, Hydraulic Hose and Fitting TorqueSpecifications.1 Lower the boom to the stowed position.2 Place a lifting device under the front of theplatform.3 Remove the rear turntable cover.4 Remove the cable cover from the side of thejib boom.5 Remove the wire loom from the cables at theplatform control box.6 Locate the four cables from the primary boomcable track to the platform control box.Number each cable and its entry location atthe platform control box.7 Open the platform control box.8 Label and disconnect each wire of the fourcables in the platform control box.Electrocution/burn hazard.Contact with electrically chargedcircuits could result in death orserious injury. Remove all rings,watches and other jewelry.9 Pull the cables out of the platform control box.10 Pull all of the electrical cables out of theplastic cable track. Do not pull out thehydraulic hoses.11 Remove the hose clamps from the bottomside of the primary boom.12 Tag, disconnect and plug the platform rotatorhydraulic hoses at the union, located on thebottom side of the primary boom.Bodily injury hazard. Sprayinghydraulic oil can penetrate andburn skin. Loosen hydraulicconnections very slowly to allowthe oil pressure to dissipategradually. Do not allow oil tosquirt or spray.13 Remove the hose clamp from the side of theprimary boom at the pivot end.14 Remove the drive speed limit switch mountedon the side of the pivot end of the primaryboom. Do not disconnect the wiring.15 Attach a strap from an overhead crane to thepivot end of the primary boom.
