Caring for the Computer 7-9When Traveling Before traveling with your computer, make a backup of your hard disk data intoflash disks or other storage devices. As an added precaution, bring along anextra copy of your important data. Make sure that the battery pack is fully charged. Make sure that the computer is turned off and the top cover is securely closed. Make sure that all the connector covers are closed completely to ensure thewaterproof integrity. Do not leave objects in between the keyboard and closed display. Disconnect the AC adapter from the computer and take it with you. Use theAC adapter as the power source and as a battery-charger. Hand-carry the computer. Do not check it in as luggage. If you need to leave the computer in the car, put it in the trunk of the carto avoid exposing the computer to excessive heat. When going through airport security, it is recommended that you send the computerand flash disks through the X-ray machine (the device you set your bags on).Avoid the magnetic detector (the device you walk through) or the magnetic wand(the handheld device used by security personnel). If you plan to travel abroad with your computer, consult your dealer for theappropriate AC power cord for use in your country of destination.
