Installation ManualH3C S7502 Ethernet Switch Chapter 3 Installation Preparations3-53.2.4 Grounding RequirementsA good grounding system is the basis for a switch to work stably and reliably and theimportant guarantee of lightning protection, anti-interference and ESD. A switch shouldbe provided with good grounding system.3.2.5 Power Supply RequirementsThe S7502 provides 1+1 power redundancy backup. For AC power modules:z Rated voltage range: 100 VAC to 240VAC, 50 Hz or 60 Hzz Input voltage range: 90 VAC to 264 VAC, 50 Hz or 60 Hzz Power output power: 300 WFor DC power modules:z Rated voltage range: –48 VDC to –60 VDCz Input voltage range: –36 VDC to –72 VDCz Max output power: 296 W3.3 Installation PlanningSince the S7502 is a kind of complex equipment, it is necessary to make a good planand arrangement concerning installation position, networking measure, power supplyand cabling before installing it.3.3.1 Space RequirementFor better heat dissipation and equipment maintenance, it is recommended to keep thefront and back of the switch more than 1 meters inclusive away from the walls or otherdevices. There can be other devices located beside the left and right of the switch. However, you shall keep the left and right of the switch more than 0.8 meters inclusiveaway from the walls. If the optional rack will be installed, the net height of equipmentroom should be more than 3 meters inclusive.3.3.2 Rack-Mounting RequirementsBefore rack-mounting a switch, make sure the rack meets the following requirements:z Better mount a switch in an open rack. However, if you mount a switch in a closedrack, make sure of good heat dissipation system.z Make sure the rack stands steadily enough to well support the switch andaccessories.z Make sure that the switch fits the rack size. Leave enough spaces beside the leftand right panels of the switch for chassis heat dissipation.
