SolutionCheck that the cable is in good condition and the serial port settings are correct.Note:For more information about serial interface settings, refer to section 7.3.2 “ModifyingSerial Interface Parameters” in Chapter 7 “Maintaining Software”.9.7 Using the AUX Port as Backup Console PortWhen the console port is faulty, you can use the AUX port as the backup console port tocomplete router configuration as follows:1) Make sure that the work mode of the AUX port is flow.2) Power off the router, connect the RJ-45 connector of the console cable to the AUXport, and then connect the DB-9 (female) connector to the serial port of theconfiguration terminal.3) Power on the router.Note:z The AUX port can work in the flow or protocol mode. The AUX port can be used asthe backup console port only when it works in the flow mode.z The AUX port works in the flow mode by default.z Use the async mod { flow | protocol } command to switch between the flow modeand the protocol mode.
