26OperationDeflectors(Fig. 13/2)To the right and left of the circularbrushes, near the floor, are two deflec-tors which, when in their working posi-tion, prevent water splashing to thesides and guide the waste water to thecenter of the vehicle so that it can bevacuumed up better. The deflectors can be raised, if neces-sary. This is the case for basic cleaning, for example, where the floor only needsto be scrubbed when wet and the solu-tion is not vacuumed up but allowed tosoak in instead. To raise the deflector, take hold of the grip (Fig. 13/6), raise itand hook the locking hooks (Fig. 13/4)in the recesses in the grip above it(Fig. 13/5). Proceed in the same way onthe other side of the side of the vehicle.Side scrubbing unit (Fig. 13/1)In order to complete work close to walls,a pivoting side scrubbing unit, availableon option, can be installed at the frontright, refer to Section 3.1.10.3.1.3 Squeegee(Fig. 13/3)The squeegee, which projects at thesides, is fixed to the scrubber drier sothat it can pivot and swing. This enablesit to evade obstacles in the current trackand pivot back. Its strong suction ca-pacity ensures the waste water is vacu-umed up fully even on uneven floorsand in bends, leaving the floor dryenough to be walked on. The squeegeemust be checked prior to starting work, when disposing of waste water and/orfilling the fresh water tank and clearedof any foreign bodies which have beenvacuumed up.Check that the sealing strips are in per-fect condition. The rollers serve to sup-port the squeegee to prevent excessivebending of the sealing strips. Thesqueegee is automatically raised whenreversing.
