Page 124Zero ProgramZERO PROGRAM 5 , 3 , 3 In ZERO PROGRAM 5, 3, 3 setting, the first, second and thirdinputs define the minimum number of reactions to be carried outat Range 1, Range 2 and Range 3 respectively during the ZeroCalibration and Zero Check cycles. Zero cycles are activated byRUN ZERO CALIBRATION/CHECK functions in Zero Calibrationmenu or by START NEW REAGENT CYCLE function in InstallNew Reagents menu. If two or any of the three ZERO PROGRAM settings is set tozero, system runs the zero calibration/check reactions only atthe programmed range(s) and calculates the TOC/TN ZeroAdjust values for the corresponding range(s) using themeasured zero adjust figure.ZERO AVERAGE 3 , 2 , 2 In ZERO AVERAGE 3, 2, 2 setting, the first, second and thirdinputs define the number of zero reactions to be averaged to getrepresentative Zero Adjust values for all measured componentsfor Range 1, Range 2 and Range 3 respectively.TN BAND 50% , 100 The TN BAND setting defines the % (e.g. 50%) and the intensitycounts (e.g. 100) zero tolerance values (maximum allowablechange level) for TN zero adjust figures. At the end of the ZeroCalibration/Check reactions, the last 3, 2, 2 (in above example)TN zero absorbance readings (see TNmgu values in engineeringreaction archive) are averaged and the % change arecalculated using the first TN calibration points (0mg/l absorbancereadings) of the corresponding TN calibration ranges inCalibration Data menu: If the TN Zero Adjust figures are within the defined TN BAND atthe end of the zero calibration cycle, system generates the TNZero Adjust values without any warning. The next time a ZeroCalibration is carried out, the zero tolerance will be based on thefirst TN calibration points adjusted with the previous zero adjustfigures. If the TN Zero Adjust figures are outside the TN BAND, systemgenerates a “44_TN ZERO CAL FAIL” warning at the end of azero calibration cycle. Zero Adjust figures are not generated andthe system continues operation using the previous Zero Adjustvalues. At the end of a zero check cycle, system generates a“47_TN ZERO CHCK FAIL” warning and logs it into the faultarchive.SERVICE ZERO 20 , 5 SERVICE ZERO specifies the number of zero calibration cyclesto be repeated after a defined number of reactions betweeneach zero calibration cycle. The first setting “20” is the number ofreactions between each zero calibration cycle, and the secondsetting “5” is the total number of zero calibration cycles which willbe carried out. SERVICE ZERO cycle is activated by the SET SERVICE ZEROfunction in Service menu.
