The installation service spaces shown in the illustrationsare based on an air intake temperature of 35 (DB)for COOL operation. In regions where the air intaketemperature regularly exceeds 35 (DB), or if the heatload of outdoor units is expected to regularly exceed themaximum operating capacity, reserve a larger spacethan that indicated at the air intake side of units. Regarding the required air outlet space, position theunits with consideration to the space required for theonsite refrigerant piping work as well. Consult yourdealer if the work conditions do not match those inthe drawings.5.3. Drain pipe disposal Make sure the drain works properly. In regions where buildups of snow can be expected, the accumulation and freezing of snow in the spacebetween the heat exchanger and external plate maylower operating efficiency. After punching the knock-out hole, the applicationof repair-type paint on the surface around the edgesections is recommended to prevent rust.6. Refrigerant pipe size andallowable pipe lengthDANGER Piping an other pressure containing parts shallcomply with the applicable legislation and shallbe suitable for refrigerant. Use phosphoric acidedeoxidised seamless copper for refrigerant. Installation shall be done by an installer, the choiceof materials and installation shall comply withapplicable legislation. In Europe the EN378 is theapplication standard that shall be used.INFORMATIONIt is forbidden to discharge refrigerant into theatmosphere. Collect the refrigerant in accordancewith the freon collection and destruction law.NOTICETo persons in charge of piping work:Be sure to open the stop valve after pipinginstalling and vacuuming is complete. (Runningthe system with the valve closed may break thecompressor.)NOTICEDo not use flux when brazing the refrigerantpiping. For brazing, use phosphor copper brazingfiller metal (BCuP) which does not require a flux.(If a chlorine flux is used, the piping will corrode, and if the flux contains fluoride, if will cause thecoolant oil to deteriorate, adversely affecting thecoolant piping system.)When barriers exist above the unitAbove 500Above 1000Above1000
