If you know the frequency number, enter it directly by first pressingthe Direct Button on the remote, and then using the Numeric Keys.2. After you have programmed Preset stations (see below), either enter thePreset number (1 through 30) using the remote or use the Preset StationsButtons (front-panel or remote) to scroll through the list of presets.3. In Auto tuning mode, with each press of the Tuning Buttons (frontpanel or remote), the AVR 350 will scan in the chosen direction untila station with acceptable signal strength is detected. Press the TuningButton again to stop scanning.4. In Manual tuning mode, with each press of the Tuning Buttons, theAVR 350 will tune the next frequency increment (0.1MHz for FM, or10kHz for AM) in the selected direction. Use the Numeric Keys to enter the desired preset number.Figure 77 – Storing a Preset StationXM Radio OperationXM Radio is a satellite-delivered service that offers hundreds of programchannels, as well as local traffic and weather information for select cities.The AVR 350 is “XM Ready,” which means that it is able to receive theXM service when a user-supplied XM antenna module is connected andthe service activated.Select an antenna module designated for XM Ready audio components.An XM Ready-compatible module uses the special connector on theAVR 350’s rear panel that allows you to use the AVR’s tuner, includingits 40 preset station locations and remote control. Although you mayuse a module with standard audio connections, which may be indicatedfor “car and home use,” you will not be able to enjoy the AVR 350’sease of control.The Audiovox® CNP 1000 “Connect and Play” module for home audiouse (may no longer be available) and the XM Mini-Tuner and HomeDock (Models CNP-2000 and CNP-2000H) are compatible with theAVR 350. Additional modules may become available in the future.Modules produced for automotive, or “mobile,” use are not compatiblewith the AVR 350.NOTE: To listen to XM Radio using the AVR 350, you will need topurchase an XM antenna module and subscription, and activateyour module. XM service is not available in Alaska or Hawaii.Visit the XM Radio Web site at www.xmradio.com for moreinformation.Plug the module into the XM Antenna Jack on the rear of the AVR 350.Place the antenna module so that it has a clear view through a south-facing window in order to obtain reception from the XM satellite.Select XM Radio as the source in one of the following three ways(see Figure 78):1. Press the Tuning Buttons on the front panel or remote to scanthrough the channels. Auto tuning mode is not available.
