56ADVANCED FUNCTIONSProcessor ResetThere may be instances where you wish to fully reset the HS 300 to itsfactory defaults, or the unit may behave erratically after a power surge.For erratic behavior, we recommend you first turn the Power Switch offand unplug the AC Power Cord for at least three minutes. Plug the cordback in and turn the unit back on. If this doesn’t work, you may want totry a system reset.NOTE: A system reset erases all user configurations, includingparental control, audio, video, speaker and level settings andtuner presets. After a reset, you will need to reenter all of thesesettings.To reset the HS 300, turn it on, stop playback and remove any disc orUSB device. Press the Clear Button to remove any on-screen displays,so that only the HS 300 “splash screen” is visible. Press and hold theClear Button for five seconds. The on-screen picture may jump, indicat-ing a successful reset.If the unit still does not function correctly after a processor reset, contactan authorized Harman Kardon service center for assistance. Servicecenters may be located by visiting our Web site at www.harmankardon.com.MemoryIf the HS 300 is unplugged or experiences a power outage, it will retainuser settings for up to four weeks.
