Riser-cardassembly4. If you have installed an optional PCI-X riser-card assembly, disconnect theriser-card power cable from the riser-card assembly.Power cablePCI-X slot5. Remove the expansion-slot cover on the slot that you intend to use and savefor future use.Attention: PCI expansion-slot covers must be installed on all vacant slots.This maintains the electronic emissions characteristics of the server andensures proper cooling of server components.6. Follow the instructions that come with the adapter to set any jumpers orswitches.7. Follow the cabling instructions, if any come with the adapter. Route the adaptercables before you install the adapter.8. Insert the adapter into the riser-card assembly, aligning the edge connector onthe adapter with the connector on the riser-card assembly. Press the edge ofthe connector firmly into the riser-card assembly.
