v Hard disk drive status LEDs: This LED is used on SAS or SATA hard diskdrives. When this LED is lit, it indicates that the drive has failed. If an optionalIBM ServeRAID controller is installed in the server, when this LED is flashingslowly (one flash per second), it indicates that the drive is being rebuilt. When theLED is flashing rapidly (three flashes per second), it indicates that the controlleris identifying the drive.v Hard disk drive activity LEDs: This LED is used on SAS or SATA hard diskdrives. Each hot-swap hard disk drive has an activity LED, and when this LED isflashing, it indicates that the drive is in use.v Optional CD-RW/DVD eject button: Press this button to release a DVD or CDfrom the optional CD/DVD drive.v Optional CD-RW/DVD drive activity LED: When this LED is lit, it indicates thatthe optional CD-RW/DVD drive is in use.v Operator information panel: This panel contains controls and LEDs thatprovides information about the status of the server. For information about thecontrols and LEDs on the operator information panel, see “Operator informationpanel.”v Operator information panel release latch: Slide the blue release latch to theleft to pull out the light path diagnostics panel and view the light path diagnosticsLEDs and buttons. See “Light path diagnostics panel” on page 16 and theProblem Determination and Service Guide for more information about the lightpath diagnostics.v Video connector: Connect a monitor to this connector. The video connectors onthe front and rear of the server can be used simultaneously.Note: The maximum video resolution is 1600 x 1200 at 75 Hz.v USB connectors: Connect a USB device, such as a USB mouse, keyboard, orother device to any of these connectors.Operator information panelThe following illustration shows the controls and LEDs on the operator informationpanel.v Power-control button and power-on LED: Press this button to turn the serveron and off manually or to wake the server from a reduced-power state. Thestates of the power-on LED are as follows:Off: Power is not present, or the power supply or the LED itself has failed.Flashing rapidly (4 times per second): The server is turned off and is notready to be turned on. The power-control button is disabled. This will lastapproximately 20 to 40 seconds.Flashing slowly (once per second): The server is turned off and is ready tobe turned on.
