Make sure that the operator information panel power-control button is workingcorrectly:a. Disconnect the server power cords.b. Reconnect the power cords.c. (Trained service technician only) Reseat the operator information panelcables, and then repeat steps 1a and 1b.v (Trained service technician only) If the server turns on, reseat theoperator information panel. If the problem persists, replace the operatorinformation panel.v If the server does not turn on, bypass the operator information panelpower-control button by using the force power-on jumper (see “I/O boardinternal connectors and jumpers” on page 8); if the server turns on,reseat the operator information panel. If the problem persists, replace theoperator information panel.2. Make sure that the reset button is working correctly:a. Disconnect the server power cords.b. Reconnect the power cords.c. (Trained service technician only) Reseat the light path panel cable, and thenrepeat steps 1a and 1b.v (Trained service technician only) If the server turns on, replace the lightpath panel.v If the server does not turn on, go to step 3.3. Make sure that:v The power cords are correctly connected to the server and to a workingelectrical outlet.v The type of memory that is installed is correct.v The memory card is fully seated.v The LEDs on the power supply do not indicate a problem.v The microprocessors are installed in the correct sequence.4. Reseat the following components:a. Memory cardb. (Trained service technician only) Power switch connectorc. (Trained service technician only) Power backplaned. I/O board5. Replace the components listed in step 4 one at a time, in the order shown,restarting the server each time.6. If you just installed an optional device, remove it, and restart the server.
