The IBM System x3530 M4 Type 7160 serverThis Installation and Service Guide contains information and instructions for settingup your IBM ® System x3530 M4 Type 7160 server, instructions for installing someoptional devices, instructions for cabling, configuring the server, removing andreplacing devices, and diagnostics and troubleshooting information.In addition to the instructions in Chapter 2, “Installing optional devices,” on page23 for installing optional hardware devices, updating firmware and device drivers,and completing the installation, IBM Business Partners must also complete thesteps in “Instructions for IBM Business Partners” on page 24.The IBM System x3530 M4 Type 7160 is a 1-U-high rack model, two-socket serverfor virtualization, database, and computational intensive computing. It is the nextgeneration enterprise server based on Intel's Romley-EN technology. Thishigh-performance, scalable server is ideally suited for enterprise environments thatrequire superior input/output (I/O) flexibility, scalability, and high manageability.Performance, ease of use, reliability, and expansion capabilities were keyconsiderations in the design of the server.
