Using the Boot Selection Menu programThe Boot Selection Menu is used to temporarily redefine the first startup devicewithout changing boot options or settings in the Setup utility.To use the Boot Selection Menu program, complete the following steps:1. Turn off the server.2. Restart the server.3. When the prompt Select Boot Device is displayed, press F12. If abootable USB mass storage device is installed, a submenu item (USB Key/Disk)is displayed.4. Use the Up Arrow and Down Arrow keys to select an item from the menu andpress Enter.The next time the server starts, it returns to the startup sequence that is set in theSetup utility.Starting the backup UEFI firmwareThe system board contains a backup copy area for the UEFI firmware. This is asecondary copy of the UEFI firmware that you update only during the process ofupdating the UEFI firmware. If the primary copy of the UEFI firmware becomesdamaged, use this backup copy.To force the server to start from the backup copy of the UEFI firmware, turn offthe server; then, move the UEFI boot recovery J22 jumper to the backup position(pins 2 and 3).Use the backup copy of the UEFI firmware until the primary copy is restored.After the primary copy is restored, turn off the server; then, move the UEFI bootrecovery J22 jumper back to the primary position (pins 1 and 2).Using the ServerGuide Setup and Installation CDThe ServerGuide Setup and Installation CD provides software setup tools andinstallation tools that are designed for your server. The ServerGuide programdetects the server model and optional hardware devices that are installed and usesthat information during setup to configure the hardware. The ServerGuideprogram simplifies operating-system installations by providing updated devicedrivers and, in some cases, installing them automatically.You can download a free image of the ServerGuide Setup and Installation CD orpurchase the CD from the ServerGuide fulfillment website at http://www.ibm.com/systems/management/serverguide/sub.html.
