Touch the static-protective package that contains the new DVD drive to anyunpainted metal surface on the server; then, remove the DVD drive from thepackage and place it on a static-protective surface.6. Follow the instructions that come with the DVD drive to set any jumpers orswitches.7. Read the safety information that begins on page vii and the “Installationguidelines” on page 27.2. Turn off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect the power cords andall external cables.Note: When you disconnect the power source from the server, you lose theability to view the LEDs because the LEDs are not lit when the powersource is removed. Before you disconnect the power source, make anote of which LEDs are lit; then, see the Problem Determination andService Guide for information about how to solve the problem.3. Remove the cover (see “Removing the cover” on page 29).4. If an adapter is installed in the riser-card assembly, disconnect any cables thatare connected to the adapter.5.
