AFL-HM55 Series Panel PCPage 193.1 Anti-static PrecautionsWARNING:Failure to take ESD precautions during the maintenance of the devicemay result in permanent damage to the device and severe injury to theuser.Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can cause serious damage to electronic components, including the AFL-HM55. Dry climates are especially susceptible to ESD. It is thereforecritical that whenever the AFL-HM55 is accessed internally, or any other electricalcomponent is handled, the following anti-static precautions are strictly adhered to. Wear an anti-static wristband: - Wearing a simple anti-static wristband canhelp to prevent ESD from damaging the board. Self-grounding: - Before handling the board touch any grounded conductingmaterial. During the time the board is handled, frequently touch anyconducting materials that are connected to the ground. Use an anti-static pad: - When configuring the AFL-HM55, place it on anantic-static pad. This reduces the possibility of ESD damaging the device. Only handle the edges of the PCB: - When handling the PCB, hold the PCBby the edges.3.2 Installation PrecautionsWhen installing the flat panel PC, please follow the precautions listed below: Power turned off: When installing the flat panel PC, make sure the power isoff. Failing to turn off the power may cause severe injury to the body and/ordamage to the system. Certified Engineers: Only certified engineers should install and modifyonboard functionalities. Anti-static Discharge: If a user open the rear panel of the flat panel PC, toconfigure the jumpers or plug in added peripheral devices, ground themselvesfirst and wear and anti-static wristband.
