AFL-HM55 Series Panel PCPage 544.1 System Maintenance IntroductionIf the components of the AFL-HM55 Series fail they must be replaced. Components thatcan be replaced include: SO-DIMM module SATA DOM module HDD drivePlease contact the system reseller or vendor to purchase replacement parts.4.2 Anti-static PrecautionsWARNING:Failure to take ESD precautions during the maintenance of theAFL-HM55 Series may result in permanent damage to the AFL-HM55Series and severe injury to the user.Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can cause serious damage to electronic components,including the AFL-HM55 Series. Dry climates are especially susceptible to ESD. It istherefore critical that whenever the panel PC is accessed internally, or any other electricalcomponent is handled, the following anti-static precautions are strictly adhered to. Wear an anti-static wristband: - Wearing a simple anti-static wristband canhelp to prevent ESD from damaging the board. Self-grounding: - Before handling the board touch any grounded conductingmaterial. During the time the board is handled, frequently touch anyconducting materials that are connected to the ground. Use an anti-static pad: - When configuring the AFL-HM55 Series, place it onan antic-static pad. This reduces the possibility of ESD damaging theAFL-HM55 Series. Only handle the edges of the PCB: - When handling the PCB, hold the PCBby the edges.
