If service work is carriedout under guarantee, this will not extend theguarantee period for the appliance.Which appliances are not covered by theIKEA five (5) years guarantee?The range of appliances named LAGAN andall appliances purchased in IKEA before 1st ofAugust 2007.Who will execute the service?IKEA service provider will provide theservice through its own service operations orauthorized service partner network.What does this guarantee cover?The guarantee covers faults of the appliance,which have been caused by faulty constructionor material faults from the date of purchasefrom IKEA. This guarantee applies to domesticuse only. The exceptions are specified underthe headline “What is not covered under thisguarantee?” Within the guarantee period,the costs to remedy the fault e.g. repairs,parts, labour and travel will be covered,provided that the appliance is accessible forrepair without special expenditure. On theseconditions the EU guidelines (Nr. 99/44/EG) and the respective local regulationsare applicable. Replaced parts become theproperty of IKEA.What will IKEA do to correct the problem?IKEA appointed Service Provider will examinethe product and decide, at its sole discretion,if it is covered under this guarantee. Ifconsidered covered, IKEA Service Provideror its authorized service partner through itsown service operations, will then, at its solediscretion, either repair the defective productor replace it with the same or a comparableproduct.What is not covered under this guarantee?• Normal wear and tear.• Deliberate or negligent damage, damagecaused by failure to observe operatinginstructions, incorrect installation or byconnection to the wrong voltage, damagecaused by chemical or electrochemicalreaction, rust, corrosion or water damageincluding but not limited to damagecaused by excessive lime in the watersupply, damage caused by abnormalenvironmental conditions.• Consumable parts including batteries andlamps.• Non-functional and decorative parts whichdo not affect normal use of the appliance,including any scratches and possible colordifferences.• Accidental damage caused by foreignobjects or substances and cleaning orunblocking of filters, drainage systems orsoap drawers.• Damage to the following parts: ceramicglass, accessories, crockery and cutlerybaskets, feed and drainage pipes, seals,lamps and lamp covers, screens, knobs,casings and parts of casings. Unless suchdamages can be proved to have beencaused by production faults.• Cases where no fault could be foundduring a technician’s visit.• Repairs not carried out by our appointedservice providers and/or an authorizedservice contractual partner or where non-original parts have been used.• Repairs caused by installation which isfaulty or not according to specification.• The use of the appliance in a non-domesticenvironment i.e. professional use.• Transportation damages.
