However, if you stillchoose to use an extension cord, it is absolutelynecessary that it be a UL listed 3-wire groundingtype appliance extension cord and that the currentcarrying rating of the cord in amperes be equivalentto or greater than the branch circuit rating. Suchextension cords are obtainable through your localservice organization.Do not, under any circumstances, cut or removethe third (ground) prong from the power cord (SeeFig. 12).Where a standard two-prong wall receptacle isencountered, it is the personal responsibility andobligation of the customer to have it replaced with aproperly grounded three-prong wall receptacle.Do not, under anycircumstances, cut,remove or bypass thegrounding prong.Grounding instructions:The power cord of this appliance is equipped with a3-prong (grounding) plug which mates with astandard 3-prong grounding wall receptacle tominimize the possibility of electric shock hazardfrom this appliance.
