SERVICING33 MINOR MAINTENANCEFig. 33.1 Preparing the burner detachmentMinor maintenance involves the following activities:1. Isolate the electricity supply.2. Successively remove or detach (refer to frame 6):- the jacket of the unit (refer to frame 8)- the gas pipe from the valve- the gas/air pressure pipe- the plugs of the burner safety thermostat- the air supply hose of the fan.3. Loosen the two fasteners of the burner.Remove and inspect the burner. If necessary, clean theburner (refer to Fig. 33.2).Note: the burner cover should be handled with care.Only clean the burner with compressed air or a smoothbrush.4. Inspect the heat exchanger. If the heat exchanger ispolluted, major maintenance should be carried out.Note: If the heat exchanger must be cleaned, the igniterhas to be removed. The igniter is very fragile and shouldnever be touched. The igniter is supplied with120 V-AC. The mains supply MUST therefore always beisolated before removing the burner (dangerous voltageabove 50 V-AC).5. After cleaning the burner, the silicone burner sealinggasket can be re-used, provided it shows no damage. If it is damaged it should be replaced. Reassemble theburner in reverse order.6. Remove the fan by loosening it from the lower accesscover plate (refer to Fig. 33.3). Inspect and clean the fan,if necessary. In order to remove the fan, disconnect theconnecting hose to the burner, remove the green block, and pull the fan towards you.7. Remove and clean the siphon (refer to Fig. 33.4).8. After carrying out all the above activities, all parts have tobe fitted and the unit put back into operation. The followingcontrol measurements and adjustments have to be made:- Measure the gas/air differential pressure:refer to frame 31.- Measure the ionisation current: refer to frame 31.Fig. 33.2 Detaching and cleaning the burnerFig. 33.3 Removing the fanFig. 33.4 Removing the siphon312211214212014 C21905521914625 Maximiser SE - Installation
