This function is OFF as factory default setting and can be ON according toapplications.Dark Compression FunctionLinear(Factory default) No compression, Gamma=1.0Dark CompressionCompress the signal level in the dark portion. It can improve thesignal to noise ratio, but on the other hand, the linearity will bedeteriorated.9.5. Blemish compensationThe GO-5000-PGE has a blemish compensation circuit. This function compensates blemishes on theCMOS sensor (typically pixels with extremely high response or extremely low response). This appliesto both monochrome and color versions. Pixels that fulfill the blemish criteria can be compensatedby averaging the data from the pixel in the left adjacent column and, in the case of theGO-5000C-PGE, the defective pixels can be compensated by averaging the data from the sameBayer color pixel in left adjacent column. The number of pixels that can be compensated is up to256pixels.GO-5000-PGE has an automatic blemish detection function. After setting the threshold, when theblemish compensation is executed, blemishes are automatically detected and stored in the memoryinside the camera. If the blemish compensation is set to ON, the stored data is loaded. Thecustomer can adjust white blemishes but not black blemishes.B/WColorDefective PixelFig.40 Blemish compensationNote: If defective pixels are found consecutively in the horizontal direction, the blemishcompensation circuit does not work.
