J-2005.0 General electrical safety InstructionsYour new Jacuzzi spa is equipped with a “state-of-the-art”equipment system. It contains the most advanced safetyand self-protective equipment in the industry.Nonetheless, this spa must be installed properly to insuredependable usage. Please contact your dealer or local buildingdepartment should you have any questions regarding your installation.Proper grounding is extremely important. Jacuzzi spas are equipped witha current collector system. A pressure wire connector is provided on thesurface of the control box, located outside the equipment door (Figure B,page 17) to permit connection of a bonding wire between this point andany ground metal equipment, metal water pipe or conduit within5 feet (1.5m) of the spa, or copper clad grounding rod buried within 5 feet(1.5m) of the spa. Bonding wire must be at least No. 8 AWG (8.4 mm²)solid copper wire. This is a most important safety assurance feature.Before installing this spa, check with the local building department toinsure installation conforms to local building codes.120/240 volt Convertible ModelsA spa connected to a 120 VAC electrical service must be located closeenough to a grounded, grounding-type electrical outlet so that theincluded 10 feet (3m) power cord can be plugged directly into it. Do noTuse an eXTensIon CorD as this could cause damage to the spa’sequipment due to insufficient voltage. The power supplied to this spamust be a dedicated circuit with no other appliances or lights sharing thepower provided by the circuit.12
