5Outdoor InstallationIf you install the spa outdoors, we recommend that youprovide a concrete pad for it to rest on. To do this, constructforms for a 7' x 6' x 4" thick level pad. Install a #10 gaugewire mesh 6" x 6" steel reinforced grid. Attach a #8 solidcopper wire to the grid with a water pipe ground clamp. Thiswire should be long enough to reach the bond bar on thespa System Control Module ( a minimum of 36"), but shouldnot be located under the base of the spa. Then pour theconcrete pad.DrainageWhether you install your spa indoors or outdoors, youcan drain it by attaching a garden hose to the drain valvelocated on the suction tee of the spa. Simply run the hoseto the house sewer line or drain field and open the hosebibb.Make sure the area surrounding the spa has gooddrainage to keep water from collecting at the base of theSUPPORT AND DRAINAGEspa—especially near the equipment area. If drainage ispoor, install a drain line and/or gravel drain field. (Seeillustration below.)Indoor InstallationWater which splashes on the floor during use of the spamay cause a walking hazard and/or structural damageunless good drainage is provided and proper waterproofbuilding materials are used in the area surrounding andbeneath the spa. Also take into consideration the high roomhumidity caused by high spa water temperatures. Provid-ing natural or forced ventilation of the room will helpmaintain comfort and minimize moisture damage to thebuilding.
