25www.ndtJames.comUtilizing Cover Map FunctionThe James® Instruments Rebarscope® has incorporated a userfriendly cover map to further assist in field analysis. The cover mapmode allows the user to mark the cover and location of a rebar on agrid. The grid lines are numerically numbered with the Y axisstarting at 1 from left to right. The X axis is also numericallynumbered with number 1 starting at the top of the grid.The Three symbols below have been selected to allow the user todistinguish the status of the current reading. A full shaded boxrepresents that the cover is less than the selected S min. The S minis the selected minimum cover you have told the Rebarscope® todetect. A box with 3 thick shaded lines means that the cover iswithin range of the selected S min.
