Improper installation and/orop er a tion can create dangerous electricalhazards which can cause high voltages to runthrough the electrical system, possibly causingproperty damage, serious injury, or death.Improper installation and/or operation will voidthe warranty.6.2.1 Blocked ImpellerWARNINGWhile servicing the pump, switch off the circuitbreakers at the power source. Severe personalinjury or death may occur if the pump starts whileyour hand is inside the pump.1. Turn off the pump. Switch off the circuit breakerto the pump motor.2. Remove the lid and basket.3. Look inside the pump for any debris. Removeany debris found inside.4. Replace the basket and lid.5. Switch on the circuit breaker to the pumpmotor.6. Turn on the pump, and see if the problem issolved.7. If the impeller is still blocked with debris andit is not possible to remove the debris usingSteps 2 through 4, the pump will need to bedisassembled in order to access the inlet andoutlet of the impeller.6.2.2 Impeller RemovalWARNINGWhile servicing the pump, switch off the circuitbreakers at the power source. Severe personalinjury or death may occur if the pump starts whileyour hand is inside the pump.1. Turn off the pump. Switch off the circuit breakerto the pump motor. If you are not replacing themotor, do not disconnect the electrical wiring.NOTE If you are replacing the motor, Jandy ® stronglyrecommends that a qualified service technicianor electrician properly disconnect the electricalwiring at the pump motor.2. Turn off any valves to prevent pool water fromReaching the pump. Drain the water from thepump by loosening the unions or removing thedrain plugs.3. Using a 9/16" wrench, loosen the bolts connectingthe pump body to the motor backplate (seeFigure 2).4. Pull the motor and backplate out of the pumpbody. Remove the pump body o-ring. Theimpeller is connected to the motor shaft.5. Using a No. 1 Phillips screwdriver, remove the two(2) screws holding the diffuser. (the diffuser is thecover over the impeller). Then remove the diffuser(see Figure 3). Remove the diffuser o-ring (seeFigure 4).NOTE At this point you have access to the inlet and outletof the impeller to remove any debris.PumpBodyFigure 2.
