Do not open the pump lid before pressure testing,because the blue pressure test o-ring may fall out. Ifthis happens, you will need to replace it.CAUTIONIf you have not opened the pump lid, skip to Section3.3.2, Conduct Pressure Test.3.3.1 Replace Blue Pressure Test O-ring ifNecessaryIf you open the pump lid before conducting thepressure test, the blue o-ring will probably fall out. Ifthis happens, you will need to install it on the lid againbefore conducting pressure testing.There is a risk of damage to the blue o-ring during re-installation. If you damage it when trying to re-installit, you will need to order a new blue pressure test o-ring(R0479000) before you begin conducting the pressuretest.These instructions describe the proper procedures forreplacing, using, and disposing of the blue o-ring.These instructions must be followed exactly. Readthrough the instructions completely before startingthe procedure.3.3.1.1 Remove Pump Lid1. Make sure that the pump is turned off.2. Make sure that the switch to the circuit breakerthat powers the pump motor is turned off.Turn off the pump and the main breaker in thepump electrical circuit before starting the procedure.Failure to comply may cause a shock hazard,resulting in severe personal injury or death.WARNINGDue to the potential risk of fire, electric shock, orinjuries to persons, Jandy Pro Series Pumps mustbe installed in accordance with the National Electri-cal Code ® (NEC ®), in the USA, or the CanadianElectrical Code (CEC ®) in Canada. Insulate all connections carefully to preventgrounding or short-circuits. Sharp edges onterminals require extra protection. To preventwire nuts from loosening, tape them usinga suitable, listed (UL, ETL, CSA) electricalinsulating tape. For safety, and to prevent entryof contaminants, reinstall all conduit and terminalbox covers. Do not force connections into theconduit box.4. To configure the internal wiring of the pumpmotor for the correct voltage, refer to thediagram on the motor data plate.3.3 Pressure TestingAll model SHP pumps come with an additionaldisposable o-ring for pressure testing.
