CARE & MAINTENANCE OF THE GRILLSTAINLESS STEELThe grill is made of non-rusting and non-magnetic stainless steel. There are manystainless steel cleaners available. Always use themildest cleaning procedure first, scrubbing in thedirection of the grain.To touch up noticeable scratches in the stainlesssteel, sand very lightly with dry 100 grit emerypaper in the direction of the grain.Grease specks can gather and bake onto thesurfaces of the stainless steel, giving theappearance of rust. For removal, use anabrasive pad with a stainless steel cleaner.GRILL RACKThe easiest way to clean the grill is immediatelyafter cooking is completed, and the flames havebeen turned off.Wear a barbeque mitt to protect your hand fromthe heat and steam.Scrub the hot grill by dipping a bristle barbecuebrush in tap water. Cleaning will be more difficultif the grill is allowed to cool.CAUTIONBefore cleaning, make sure the gas supply andcontrol knobs are in the “OFF” position, and theburners have cooled.GRILL BURNERSExtreme care should be taken when moving aburner. It must be correctly centered on theorifice before any attempt is made to relight thegrill. Frequency of cleaning will depend on howoften you use the grill.WARNINGFailure to properly place the burner over theorifice could cause a fire to occur behind andbeneath the valve panel, thereby damaging thegrill and making it unsafe to operate.GRILL BURNER REMOVAL/INSTALLATIONThe grill burners are factory installed.To remove the main burners for cleaning:1. Locate the cotter pin at the rear of the burneron the bottom side.2. Remove the cotter pin and lift the burner outof the fire box.To reinstall the main burners:3. Insert the burner over the valve assembly(Item# 11 on Page 17).4. Insert the back of the burner into the hole atthe rear of the fire box and reinsert the cotterpin.GREASE TRAY CLEANINGThe grease tray should be emptied, wiped downand washed periodically in a mild detergent andwarm water solution.A small amount of sand or cat litter may beplaced in the bottom of the grease tray to absorbthe grease. Check the grease tray frequently.Do not allow excess grease to accumulate andflow out of the grease tray.GRILL BURNER CLEANING1. Turn off the gas supply, and make sure thecontrol knobs are in the “OFF” position.2. Make certain the grill is cool, and clean theexterior of the burner with a wire brush. Usea metal scraper for stubborn stains.3. Clear clogged ports with a straightenedpaper clip. Never use a wooden toothpick. Itmay break off and clog the port.4.
