WARNING: IMPORTANT!USING THE SIDE BURNER:Inspect the gas supply hose prior to turning the gas“ON”. If there is evidence of cuts, wear or abrasion,it must be replaced prior to use. Do not use the sideburner if the odor of gas is present.WARNING: Always keep your face and bodyas far away from the burner as possible whenlighting.LIGHTING INSTRUCTIONSTo light the side burner, remove any cookingutensils from the burner grate. Push and turn thecontrol knob counterclockwise to the “HI” position. Ifthe burner does not light, turn the control knob to“OFF”. If the smell of gas is detected and the igniteris not functioning, immediately turn the control knob“OFF”. Allow 5 minutes for any accumulated gas todissipate. If the side burner igniter is notfunctioning, see the following section for matchlighting.MATCH LIGHTINGHold a lit extended match or lighter near the sideburner ports, turn the control knob counterclockwiseto “HI”. Move your hand immediately once theburner is lit. Rotate the control knob to the desiredsetting.STAINLESS STEELThe grill is made from non-rusting and non-magnetic stainless steel. There are many differentstainless steel cleaners available. Always use themildest cleaning procedure first, scrubbing in thedirection of the grain. To touch up noticeablescratches in the stainless steel, sand very lightlywith dry 100 grit emery paper in the direction of thegrain. Specks of grease can gather on the surfacesof the stainless steel and bake on to the surfaceand give the appearance of rust. For removal usean abrasive pad in conjunction with a stainless steelcleaner.GRILL RACKThe easiest way to clean the grill is immediatelyafter cooking is completed and after turning off theflame. Wear a barbeque mitt to protect your handfrom the heat and steam. Dip a brass bristlebarbeque brush in tap water and scrub the hot grill.Dip the brush frequently in the bowl of water.Steam, created as water contacts the hot grill,assists the cleaning process by softening any foodparticles. The food particles will fall and burn. If thegrill is allowed to cool before cleaning, cleaning willbe more difficult.ENSURE THAT THE GAS SUPPLY AND THEKNOBS ARE IN THE “OFF” POSITION. MAKESURE THE RANGETOP BURNER IS COOLBEFORE REMOVAL.GRILL BURNERSExtreme care should be taken when moving aburner as it must be correctly centered on theorifice before any attempt is made to relight the grill.Frequency of cleaning will depend on how often youuse the grill.GRILL BURNER CLEANINGEnsure the gas supply is off and the knobs are inthe “OFF” position. Make sure the grill is cool.Clean the exterior of the burner with a wire brush.Clear stubborn scale with a metal scraper. Clearany clogged ports with a straightened paper clip.Never use a wooden toothpick as it may break offand clog the port. A small amount of sand or catlitter may be placed in bottom of grease tray toabsorb the grease.
