The buttons on thefront of the unit light up and the current mode status appearsin the LCD screen (15). You can also turn on the unit bypressing the OPEN button (4) and opening the TFT screen.Press and hold the button to power off the unit.The monitoris drawn back into the main compartment.Audible Beep ConfirmationAn audible beep tone confirms each function selection. TheBeep tone can be disabled through the Setup menu.MutePress the AUDIO button (5) on the front panel or the MUTEbutton (3) on the remote to mute the volume from the unit.Press the button again to restore the volume. “MUTE” isdisplayed on the LCD. Adjusting the volume or using any ofthe audio setup features cancels the mute function.Playing Source SelectionPress the SRC button (6) on the front panel or the SRCbutton (8) on the remote to change between available playingsources. The playing mode is displayed on the TFT and LCDscreens.Accessing External DevicesExternal peripheral devices can be connected to this unit viathe rear RCA inputs or the A/V INPUT connector (11) on thefront of the unit. Select “AUX-IN1” to access an auxiliarydevice connected to the A/V INPUT on the front panel. Select“AUX IN2” mode to access a device connected to the rearAUX IN connectors.Connect the external device to the 3.5mm Media Cable andthen plug the cable into the A/V INPUT connector (10) on thefront of the radio. Select “AUX IN1” mode to access anauxiliary device connected to the A/V INPUT on the front ofthe radio. You cannot directly control external devicesconnected to the A/V INPUT.Selecting a Source While NavigatingWhile navigating, other sources may be selected and listenedto such as AM-FM Tuner, CD, etc. To select a source, pressthe /SRC button (6) and then select a source from theFront Source Menu. Navigation voice prompts will be heardautomatically, although the navigation map cannot be seen.(The selected source audio will be muted until the navigationvoice prompt command is completed, after which the sourceaudio will resume.)Volume AdjustmentTo increase or decrease the volume level, turn the AUDIOcontrol (5) on the front panel or press the VOL+/ VOL-buttons (15, 16) on remote control. When the volume levelreaches “0” or “40”, a beep sounds, indicating that theadjustment limit has been reached. The volume ranges from“0” to “40”. The LCD or TFT screen displays the volume levelfor 3 seconds.Programmable Turn-On VolumeThis feature allows the user to select a turn-on volume settingregardless of the volume setting prior to turning the unit off.To program a specific turn-on volume level, turn the AUDIOcontrol (5) to adjust the volume to the desired turn-on volume.Press and hold the AUDIO button while the yellow speakericon and level indication is displayed on the screen. The unitwill beep to confirm your turn-on volume setting.Steering Wheel Control (SWC)The VM9313 is compatible with the PAC (Pacific AccessoryCorporation) steering wheel control adapter SWI-PS. A3.5mm female connector (labeled “SWC Interface”) on theback of the head unit allows connectivity to the PAC adapter.Please refer to the instructions included with the PAC adapterfor detailed installation information.SWC FunctionsThe following controls are available for most vehicles:1. This feature / function may not be available on somevehicles.Select OperationIf "Select" (function 7 or 8) is held down and function 4 ispressed momentarily, Preset Up will be selected. If "Select"(function 7 or 8) is held down and function 5 is pressedmomentarily, Preset Down will be selected.Audio Control MenuThe Audio Control feature allows you to easily adjust youraudio system to meet the acoustical characteristics of yourvehicle, which vary depending on the type of vehicle and itsmeasurements. Proper setting of the Fader and Balanceboosts the effects of the cabin equalizer.Press the AUDIO button (5) on the front panel or touch theEQ button on the left side of the TFT screen to display theaudio menu.To adjust an audio feature:1. Use the touchscreen or press the (>>|)/(|<<) buttons (14,22) on the remote control to highlight the audio featureto be adjusted.2. Touch the screen to select an option to adjust. Touchthe yellow box next to the “EQ” label or press theAUDIO control (5) repeatedly to view available presetEQ options.3.
