29Troubleshooting Mechanical and Electrical ProblemsTrouble Probable Cause RemedyNo incoming power.Verify unit is connected to power, on-button is pushed in completely, andstop-button is disengaged.Building circuit breaker trips or fuseblows.Verify that jointer is on a circuit ofcorrect size. If circuit size is correct, there is probably a loose electricallead. Check amp setting on motorstarter.Switch or motor failure (how todistinguish). If you have access to a voltmeter, youcan separate a switch failure from amotor failure by first, verifyingincoming voltage at 110/220+/-10%and second, checking the voltagebetween switch and motor at110/220+/-10%. If incoming voltage isincorrect, you have a power supplyproblem. If voltage between switchand motor is incorrect, you have aswitch problem. If voltage betweenswitch and motor is correct, you havea motor problem.Motor overheated.Clean motor of dust or debris to allowproper air circulation. Allow motor tocool down before restarting.Motor failure. If electric motor is suspect, you havetwo options: Have a qualifiedelectrician test the motor for functionor remove the motor and take it to aqualified electric motor repair shopand have it tested.Unit incorrectly wired.Double check to confirm all electricalconnections are correct. Refer to theWiring Diagram section to make anyneeded corrections.Machine will notstart/restart orrepeatedly tripscircuit breaker orblows fuses.On/off switch failure. If the on/off switch is suspect, youhave two options: Have a qualifiedelectrician test the switch for function,or purchase a new on/off switch andestablish if that was the problem onchange out.Optional Accessories708801 .............Knives for Model JJ-6CSX Jointer (set of 3)708801DX ........Knives for Model JJ-6CSDX Jointer (set of 3)708815 .............Push Block1791212 ...........Knife Inserts for Model JJ-6HHDX (set of 10)
