18Figure 16: Lubrication points13.3 Gib adjustmentRefer to Figure 17.The table, saddle, knee and ram are equipped withadjustable gibs. The gibs may require adjustment ifunusual vibration is noted when lockingmechanisms are off, or if you experience unusualvibration when spindle speed, tooth pitch or depthof cut do not account for the vibration.NOTE: When adjusting table, saddle and kneegibs, always start with knee first; adjust saddlesecond, and adjust table last.13.3.1 Knee gibsAdjust two gibs located between knee and column, under the wiper (A, Figure 17). Use a dial indicatorto measure the amount of movement in knee.Adjust gib until indicator reading is within 0.003”.13.3.2 Saddle gibsAdjust three gibs (B,C) located between saddleand knee. Use dial indicator to measure amount ofmovement in saddle. Adjust gib until indicatorreading is within 0.003”.13.3.3 Table gibAdjust one gib (D) located between table andsaddle. Use dial indicator to measure amount ofmovement in table. Adjust gib until indicatorreading is within 0.003”.Figure 17: Gib locations13.3.4 Ram gib adjustmentAdjust one gib (E, Figure 18) using the two setscrews (F). Tighten the nuts on the set screws afteradjusting.Figure 18: Ram gib location13.4 Motor removalRemoval of the motor is necessary for beltreplacement.Refer to Figure 19.1.
