Site PreparationCAUTION!Mill must be supported equally under allfour corners. Failure to comply may causethe column to twist and put a bind in thebedways.The mill must be placed on an even surfaceand bolted to the floor. Anchor bolts ofsufficient size and length must be fastened tothe floor according to the footprint of the mill.See Installation Layout page 4.Lifting the Mill~WARNINGKeep people a safe distance away from themilling machine while ifis being moved.Failure to comply may cause serious injury!Lift the mill with appropriate sized liftingstraps. Follow the diagram in Fig. 2 for theproper position of the straps under the ram.Note: the position of the ram, and that thetable has been moved against the column.Tighten ram locking bolts (A, Fig. 2) beforelifting.Carefully lift the mill. Move into positionover the anchor bolts. Lower the mill onto theanchor bolts. Check for level, and secure withwashers and anchor bolt nuts.Check the mill for level with a machinist'slevel placed on the table. Mill must be levelback to front and side to side. Shim ifnecessary, but remember that the mill must besupported equally at all four corners. Check forlevel before tightening the anchor bolt nuts andafter tightening them.
