( Fig. 8).Fig 8WARNIGN: Never use miter gaugeand rip fence at the same time. The blademight bind in the workpiece. Operatorcould be injured and/or workpiece couldbe damaged.5.3 Mains connectionMains connection and any extension cordsused must comply with applicableregulations. The mains voltage must comply with theinformation on the machine licence plate. The mains connection must have a 10 Asurge-proof fuse.Only use power cords marked H07RN-FConnections and repairs to the electricalequipment may only be carried out byqualified electricians.5.4 Dust connectionBefore initial operation, the machine mustbe connected to a dust extractor. Thesuction should switch on automaticallywhen the bandsaw is switched on. ( Fig 9)Fig 95.5 Starting operationYou can start the machine with the greenon button. The machine lamp starts automaticallywhen the motor is turned on.The red button on the main switch stopsthe machine.6. Machine operationCorrect working position:In front of the machine standing in thedirection of cutting.Workpiece handling:Hands placed flat on the workpieceoutside the cutting area.Feed the workpiece towards the sawblade in the direction of the saw line, andcut as required by turning to follow theline drawn.Push the workpiece steadily forward;complete the cut as a single movement.Do not draw the workpiece back, as thiscould cause the sawblade to run off itswheels.Support long and wide workpieces withhelping roller stands.Operating hints:Work only with a sharp and flawlesssawblade.Near the cutting area use a push stick tofeed.Use a feeding template to safely guidesmall and narrow workpieces.Use a suitable wedge to prevent roundtimber from turning under the pressure ofthe cutFor the authorized use of the machineobserve the appendix A“safe operation“(on the last pages of this operatingmanual)A.1: Performing high cutsA.2.: Performing diagonal cutsA.3.: Tenon cuttingA.4.: Cutting of wedgesA.5.: Curved cutsA.6.: Arc cutsA.7.: Cutting with templateA.8.: Circular cuttingA8.1 Set up without workpieceA8.2 Placing the workpieceA8.3 Machining7. Setup and adjustmentsGeneral note:Setup and adjustment work may only becarried out after the machine isprotected against accidental starting bypulling the mains plug.7.1 Changing the sawbladeThe sawblade has to meet the technicalspecification.Choose a suitable sawblade, according tothe cutting operation and according to thematerial to be cut.For high rip cuts:- use a wide sawblade (e.g. 10mm), coarseteethed. For narrow curved cuts:- use a narrow sawblade (e.g. 3mm).Check sawblade for flaws (cracks, brokenteeth, bending) before installation. Do notuse faulty sawblades. The sawblade teeth must point in cuttingdirection (down)Always wear suitable gloves whenhandling sawblades. The sawblades may only be changed whenthe mains plug is pulled!7.2 Folding the saw bladeHold the bandsaw blade in one hand. Letit hang down vertically and hold it to thefloor with a foot. Turn your hand through360° (a complete circle), as you move itdown towards the floor.7.3 Blade tracking adjustmentBlade tracking shall never be performedwhen the machine is running.- Disconnect band saw from powersource.- To check the blade tracking, rotate drivewheel by hand in clockwise direction.View blade through tracking window.- Proper tracking is achieved when driverand idler wheels are aligned. Trackingknob on the back of the tool frame is usedto tilt upper wheel and align blade wheels.- If blade rides away from cabinet, turnknob clockwise. If blade rides towardcabinet, turn knob counterclockwise.- When blade is tracking properly, secureposition by tightening nut.Refer to Fig10 and Fig 13.7.4 Blade guide adjustmentBlade guide adjustment shall never beperformed when the machine is running.Open the wheel cover.Remove the sawblade cover from theupper blade guide.
