Theharmful elements may causeproperty damage or severeinjury.STEP 1: Use detergent designedspecifically for pressure washers.Household detergents could dam-age the pump. Prepare detergentsolution as required by the manu-facturer. Fill a container with pres-sure washer detergent. Place thefilter end of detergent suction tubeinto the detergent container.STEP 2: Open detergent metering valve.STEP 3: Detergent will be drawn intothe pump and coil and dischargedunder pressure. Never use anythingthat will damage the pump and coil.STEP 4: With the engine running, pull trigger to operate machine.Liquid detergent is drawn into themachine and mixed with water. Apply detergent to workarea. Do not allow detergent to dry on surface.IMPORTANT: You must flush the detergent fromyour machine after each use by placing the suctiontube into a bucket of clean water and then runningthe pressure washer for 1-2 minutes.THERMAL PUMPPROTECTIONIf you run the engine on your pressure washer for 3-5minutes without pressing the trigger on the spray gun, circulating water in the pump can reach high tempera-tures. When the water reaches this temperature, thepump protector engages and cools the pump by dis-charging the warm water onto the ground. This thermaldevice prevents internal damage to the pump.CLEANINg TIPSPre-rinse cleaning surface with fresh water. Place de-tergent suction tube directly into cleaning solution andapply to surface at low pressure (for best results, limityour work area to sections approximately 6 feet squareand always apply detergent from bottom to top). Allowdetergent to remain on surface 1-3 minutes. Do notallow detergent to dry on surface. If surface appearsto be drying, simply wet down surface with fresh water. If needed, use brush to remove stubborn dirt. Rinse athigh pressure from top to bottom in an even sweepingmotion keeping the spray nozzle approximately 1 footfrom cleaning surface. Use overlapping strokes as youclean and rinse any surface. For best surface cleaningaction spray at a slight angle.Recommendations:• Before cleaning any surface, an inconspicuousarea should be cleaned to test spray pattern anddistance for maximum cleaning results.• If painted surfaces are peeling or chipping, useextreme caution as pressure washer may removethe loose paint from the surface.• Keep the spray nozzle a safe distance from thesurface you plan to clean. High pressure wash asmall area, then check the surface for damage. Ifno damage is found, continue to pressure wash-ing.CAUTION - Never use:• Bleach, chlorine products and other corrosivechemicals• Liquids containing solvents (i.e., paint thinner, gasoline, oils)• Tri-sodium phosphate products• Ammonia products• Acid-based productsThese chemicals will harm the machine and will dam-age the surface being cleaned.RINSINgIt will take a few seconds for the detergent to clear.Apply safety latch to spray gun. Remove black soapnozzle from the quick coupler. Select and install thedesired high pressure nozzle. NOTE: You can also stopdetergent from flowing by simply removing detergentsiphon tube from bottle.WARNINgDETERgENTS & gENERAL CLEANINg TECHNIqUESDetergentControl
