The harmful elementsmay cause property damage orsevere injury.STEP 1: Use detergent designedspecifically for pressure washers.Household detergents could damagethe pump. Prepare detergent solutionas required by the manufacturer. Fill acontainer with pressure washer deter-gent. Place the filter end of detergentsuction tube into the detergentcontainer.STEP 2: Open detergent valve counterclockwise untilyou obtain desired mixture. Detergent will mix with thehigh pressure water stream.STEP 3: With the motor running, pull trigger to operate machine.Liquid detergent is drawn into themachine and mixed with water.Apply detergent to work area. Donot allow detergent to dry onsurface.IMPORTANT: You must flush the detergent fromyour pressure washer after each use by placing thesuction tube into a bucket of clean water, then runthe pressure washer for 2 minutes.NOTE: If you remove detergent siphon tube fromcontainer or allow container to empty, it will cause lowpressure by sucking air, which will damage the pump.Thermal Pump ProtectionIf you run the engine for 3-5 minutes without pressingthe trigger on the spray gun, circulating water in thepump can reach high temperatures. When the waterreaches this temperature, the pump protector engagesand cools the pump by discharging the warm wateronto the ground. This thermal device prevents internaldamage to the pump.Cleaning TipsPre-rinse cleaning surface with fresh water. Placedetergent suction tube directly into cleaning solutionand apply to surface. For best results, limit your workarea to sections approximately 6 feet square andalways apply detergent from bottom to top. Allowdetergent to remain on surface 1-3 minutes. Do notallow detergent to dry on surface. If surface appears tobe drying, simply wet down surface with fresh water. Ifneeded, use brush to remove stubborn dirt. Rinse athigh pressure from top to bottom in an even sweepingmotion keeping the spray nozzle approximately 1 footfrom cleaning surface. Use overlapping strokes as youclean and rinse any surface. For best surface cleaningaction spray at a slight angle.Recommendations:• Before cleaning any surface, an inconspicuousarea should be cleaned to test spray patternand distance for maximum cleaning results.• If painted surfaces are peeling or chipping, useextreme caution as pressure washer mayremove the loose paint from the surface.• Keep the spray nozzle a safe distance from thesurface you plan to clean. High pressure washa small area, then check the surface fordamage. If no damage is found, continue topressure washing.CAUTION - Never use:• Bleach, chlorine products and other corrosivechemicals• Liquids containing solvents (i.e., paint thinner, gasoline, oils)• Tri-sodium phosphate products• Ammonia products• Acid-based productsThese chemicals will harm the machine and willdamage the surface being cleaned.RinsingTurn detergent valve clockwise to close. Operatepressure washer and allow a few seconds for thedetergent to clear.DetergentValveLanda VNG Operator’s Manual 8.913-939.0 - ABWARNING
