TCDS-BA-e-2210 167.6 Connection of peripheral devicesBefore connecting or disconnecting of additional devices (printer, PC) to the datainterface, always disconnect the balance from the power supply. With your balance, only use accessories and peripheral devices by KERN, as theyare ideally tuned to your balance.7.7 Initial CommissioningIn order to obtain exact results with the electronic balances, your balance must havereached the operating temperature (see warming up time chap. 1). During thiswarming up time the balance must be connected to the power supply (mains, rechargeable accumulator or battery). The accuracy of the balance depends on the local acceleration of gravity.Strictly observe hints in chapter Adjustment.7.8 AdjustmentAs the acceleration value due to gravity is not the same at every location on earth, each display unit with connected weighing plate must be coordinated - in compliancewith the underlying physical weighing principle - to the existing acceleration due togravity at its place of location (only if the weighing system has not already beenadjusted to the location in the factory). This adjustment process must be carried outfor the first commissioning, after each change of location as well as in case offluctuating environment temperature. To receive accurate measuring values it is alsorecommended to adjust the display unit periodically in weighing operation.• Arrange the required adjustment weight, see chap. 1.Carry out adjustment as near as possible to the highest load of the balance(recommended adjustment weight see chap. 1). Weights of different nominalvalues or tolerance classes may be used for adjustment but are not optimalfor technical measuring. The accuracy of the adjustment weight mustcorrespond approximately to or, if possible, be better than, the readability [d]of the balance. Info about test weights can be found on the Internet at:http://www.kern-sohn.com• Observe stable environmental conditions. A warm up time (see chapter 1) isrequired for stabilization.• Ensure that there are no objects on the weighing pan.
