Measurement Possibilities24Measurement PossibilitiesLevel measurementThe MSK 33 is designed for the level measurements on receiving systems in themeasuring range of 30 dBμV to 130 dBμV. The level measurement is automati-cally carried out after connecting the unit and setting a frequency and is displayedon the display screen. The table shown below represents a brief overview of themeasurement possibilities of the MSK 33.Measurement possibility Type ofoperation MenusDiSEqC 2.0 SAT SAT, LNB-CONTROL, DiSEqCDiSEqC 2.0 TV TV, TV-CONTROL, DiSEqCDiSEqC 2.0 FM RADIO, RADIO-CONTROLUFOμ SAT SAT, LNB-CONTROL, DiSEqCLNB current draw SAT SAT, LNB-CONTROLLevel measurement SAT analogue SAT Sat MENU - analogueLevel measurement TV analogue TV TV MENU - analogueLevel measurement RADIO ana-logue FM RADIO-MENULevel measurement SAT digital SAT SAT, digital DVB-SLevel measurement TV digital TV TV, digital DVB-C or DVB-TMin./Max. level measurement SAT SAT, SAT MEASUREMin./Max. level measurement TV TV, TV MEASUREMin./Max. level measurement FM RADIOCurrent draw of a remotely fed-in unit TV TV, TV-CONTROLCurrent drain of a remotely fed-inunit FM RADIO, RADIO-CONTROLSound carrier measurementNicam bit error measurementMin./Max. level measurementTV TV, analogue, TV MEASUREIF level IF IFMaximal input levelThe maximal measurable input level of a carrier, which can be measured with theMSK 33, is 130 dBμV. If a system with several carriers or programmes is meas-ured, the maximal total capacity of all carriers determines the admissible inputlevel. The fed-in total capacity on the RF socket of the MSK 33 may not exceed0.5 W.The following table serves to approximately determine the maximal total capacity. It only applies, if all the carriers contain the same level. When the carriers are dou-bled, the maximal input level of the MSK 33 is reduced by 3 dB, refer to the tablebelow.Number of the fed-in carriers Reduction Maximal input level, if all carriers con-tain the same level4 TV programmes 129 dBμV9 TV programmes -3 dB 126 dBμV18 TV programmes -6 dB 123 dBμV36 TV programmes -9 dB 120 dBμVExceeding the maximal input level may damage the input stages or the unit!Intermodulation and overcontrol effects can occur for each maximal admis-sible assignment!
