For safety’s sake,leave the mounting and wiring work toprofessionals.Precautions on using this unit• If you experience problems duringinstallation, consult your Kenwood dealer.• When you purchase optional accessories,check with your Kenwood dealer to makesure that they work with your model and inyour area.• Select a language used to display menus,audio file tags, etc. See (page 6).• The Radio Data System feature won’t workwhere the service is not supported by anybroadcasting station.Protecting the monitorTo protect the monitor from damage, do notoperate the monitor using a ball point pen orsimilar tool with the sharp tip.Lens FoggingWhen you turn on the car heater in coldweather, dew or condensation may formon the lens in the disc player of the unit.Called lens fogging, this condensation onthe lens may not allow discs to play. In sucha situation, remove the disc and wait forthe condensation to evaporate. If the unitstill does not operate normally after a while,consult your Kenwood dealer.Cleaning the UnitIf the faceplate of this unit is stained, wipe itwith a dry soft cloth such as a silicon cloth.If the faceplate is stained badly, wipe the stainoff with a cloth moistened with a neutralcleaner, then wipe it again with a clean softdry cloth.• Applying spray cleaner directly to the unitmay affect its mechanical parts. Wipingthe faceplate with a hard cloth or using avolatile liquid such as thinner or alcoholmay scratch the surface or erase screenedprint.How to reset your unitIf the unit or the connected unit fails tooperate properly, press the Reset button.The unit returns to factory settings when theReset button is pressed.Reset button• Remove the USB device before pressingthe Reset button. Pressing the Reset buttonwith the USB device installed can damagethe data contained in the USB device. Forhow to remove the USB device, see To Play Media> (page 11).• When the unit is turned on after pressingthe Reset button, the Initial SETUP screen isdisplayed. Refer to (page 6).
