For safety’s sake, leave themounting and wiring work to professionals.• Make sure to ground the unit to a negative 12VDC power supply.• Do not install the unit in a spot exposed to directsunlight or excessive heat or humidity. Also avoidplaces with too much dust or the possibility ofwater splashing.• Do not use your own screws. Use only the screwsprovided. If you use the wrong screws, you coulddamage the unit.• If the power is not turned ON (“PROTECT” isdisplayed), the speaker wire may have a short-circuit or touched the chassis of the vehicle andthe protection function may have been activated.Therefore, the speaker wire should be checked.• If your car’s ignition does not have an ACCposition, connect the ignition wires to a powersource that can be turned on and off with theignition key. If you connect the ignition wire to apower source with a constant voltage supply, aswith battery wires, the battery may die.• If the console has a lid, make sure to install theunit so that the faceplate will not hit the lid whenclosing and opening.• If the fuse blows, first make sure the wires aren’ttouching to cause a short circuit, then replace theold fuse with one with the same rating.• Insulate unconnected wires with vinyl tape orother similar material. To prevent a short circuit,do not remove the caps on the ends of theunconnected wires or the terminals.• Connect the speaker wires correctly to theterminals to which they correspond. The unit maybe damaged or fail to work if you share the -wires or ground them to any metal part in the car.• When only two speakers are being connectedto the system, connect the connectors either toboth the front output terminals or to both therear output terminals (do not mix front and rear).For example, if you connect the + connectorof the left speaker to a front output terminal, donot connect the - connector to a rear outputterminal.• After the unit is installed, check whether the brakelamps, blinkers, wipers, etc. on the car are workingproperly.• Mount the unit so that the mounting angle is 30°or less.• This unit has the cooling fan (page 5) to decreasethe internal temperature. Do not mount the unitin a place where the cooling fan of the unit areblocked. Blocking these openings will inhibit thecooling of the internal temperature and result inmalfunction.• Do not press hard on the panel surface wheninstalling the unit to the vehicle.
