For safety,always resolve any discrepancies or questions beforecontinuing navigation.Always operate the vehicle in a safe manner.Do not become distracted by the navigation systemwhile driving, and always be fully aware of all drivingconditions. Minimize the amount of time spentviewing the screen of the navigation system whiledriving, and use voice prompts when possible.Do not enter destinations, change settings, oraccess any functions requiring prolonged use of thenavigation system controls while driving. Stop yourvehicle in a safe and legal manner before attemptingsuch operations.Keep the system volume at a low enough level to beable to hear outside noises while driving. If you canno longer hear outside noises, you may be unableto react adequately to the traffic situation. This maycause accidents.The navigation system will not display the correctcurrent position of the vehicle the first time it isused after purchase, or if the vehicle battery isdisconnected. GPS satellite signals will soon bereceived, however, and the correct position will bedisplayed.Be careful of the ambient temperature. Using thenavigation system at extreme temperatures can leadto malfunction or damage. Thegovernment system is subject to changes thatcould affect the accuracy and performance of allGPS equipment, including the navigation system.Although the navigation system is a precisionnavigation device, any navigation device can bemisused or misinterpreted and, therefore, becomeunsafe.IMPORTANT INFORMATIONÑ Vehicle Battery PreservationThis navigation system can be used when theignition key is turned to ON or ACC. To preservethe battery, however, it should be used with theengine running whenever possible. Using thenavigation system for a long time with the engineswitched off can cause the battery to run down.Ñ Map Data InformationOne of the goals of Garmin is to provide customerswith the most complete and accurate cartographythat is available to us at a reasonable cost. We usea combination of governmental and private datasources, which we identify in product literature andcopyright messages displayed to the consumer.Virtually all data sources contain some inaccurateor incomplete data. In some countries, completeand accurate map information is either notavailable or is prohibitively expensive.
