23Preparing for playbackSome preparatory steps are needed before starting playback.Selecting the input modeIf you have selected a component connected to the CD/DVD, DVD/6ch,VIDEO2, or VIDEO3 jacks, make sure that the input mode setting iscorrect for the type of audio signal to be used. 8Selecting MD/TAPESelect the source name corresponding to the component connected tothe MD/TAPE jacks. The initial factory setting is “TAPE”. To change thesource to “MD”, follow the steps below:1 Use the INPUT SELECTOR knob to select “MD/TAPE”.2 Hold down the AUTO key for more than 2 seconds.• The source indication changes to “MD”.• To return to the original indication, repeat procedure 2.Selecting the speaker systemPress the SPEAKERS A or B key to select the speaker system tobe used.A ON : Sound from the speakers connected to the SPEAKERS Aterminals on the rear panel.B ON : Sound from the speakers connected to the SPEAKERS Bterminals on the rear panel. No sound will be heard fromsubwoofer.A+B ON : Sound from both the speakers connected to the SPEAKERSA and B terminals on the rear panel.A+B OFF : No sound from the speakers.
